A two hour exploration of the core and hips using asana (poses) and pranayama (breath) to achieve a physical meditation (dharana, dhyana, samadhi).
Hard Core: 1 hour core focused vinyasa, designed to strengthen from the inside out. Not crunches and sit ups. An examination of the what’s, why’s, and how’s of the core muscles; From a practical and an aesthetic perspective.
The Bridge: Build heat to create space, then slow down to explore the space created. We bridge from the core to the hips via the Iliopsoas, the muscular links between the power of our core muscles, and the complexity of the hip joint; A smooth transition from effort to ease. Finally, we hit the floor and begin a slow, deep hip opening sequence.
Soft Hips: 1 hour slow, deep, cool down, and restoratives focused on opening and softening the hips; With an emphasis on using the breath to go deeper into postures, training the mind to surrender, as opposed to forcing, the body into poses. We close with an extra long savasana…
Hard core, soft hips… A physical meditation.
